This journey is becoming rockier and it seems, some days, as though I am not keeping up with climbing. Each day I learn something new. Like it is very difficult to get the floor vacuumed when you are a MOM, soccer coach (only in the technical sense), a PTA President, Scentsy Certified Consultant, wife, athlete, yogi, self, cook, chauffeur, etc. The pressure put on women these days is staggering. I am surprised at how much I can get done in a day and how quickly my mood and energy level can go from as high as it needs to be to even take on these daily responsibilities to so low that I can barely get dinner made, a load of laundry finished and the kids to their activities.
My daughter is now a freshman and she LOVES high school. She made the volleyball team, which is HUGE and she has classes with her friends from previous years and there is always something to participate in. Will is also adjusting to 2nd grade well. He seems to have forgotten his penchant for acting and shouting out.
My trick is to put the stones in big ones first...being a Mom, being Misty, being a Wife...then we put in the smaller ones like PTA and Scentsy...then if we shake it up a bit we can even fit more in; such as cooking, gardening and spending time with friends. I have my off days. I cannot always practice what I preach for I am human. I know what I need to do but sometimes it is hard to make myself do it. So today I need to pass out some brochures for Scensty, submit a grant application for PTA and pick up Kelsey at volleyball at 5:30p. Then I have to hold soccer practice, cook dinner, do a little laundry, ensure everyone is ready for school tomorrow.
Scentsy makes this possible. My Scentsy business is flexible. I can schedule Scentsy around soccer, PTA, volleyball and exercise. I get to have some relaxing girl time when I want it and I can make a little spending money and win some amazing prizes. I love my job. I love being a mom; even when it means spending an hour in the car waiting for practice to get over. Or when I am learning soccer right along side my 7-year-old son.
